Oak Bay Cobbler

I had a wonderful experience with Dave at Oak Bay Cobbler (and I'm sorry it has taken me so long to leave this review). I was turned away by another cobbler who told me my Doc Martens that I had stupidly put through the washer and dryer in an attempt to shrink the leather (Reddit told me to!) which left them deformed (obviously), were a lost cause. Dave, however, said if I wanted to come back and use his tools I could work on the shoes myself. I fixed them. He didn't charge me. Go to Dave :)

I used to bring my shoes to the Oak Bay cobbler thirty years ago when I lived in Victoria, and he always did great work with a smile. I'm visiting Victoria for a few days, and I walked in today with a pair of shoes that needed a little stitching, and he did it while I waited. Thank you!

I went to see David after experiencing a problem with another local shoe repair business. I had brought in my $200 Josef Seibel boots for new heels and much to my surprise the owner repolished them to a darker blue (almost black) from their original mid blue (I had polished them before I had brought them in). I had asked David if he could restore the original colour. He wanted to try something however was in successful & didn’t charge me. Support honest local businesses like Oak Bay Cobbler
