“Meat is actually only half of our business; my only regret is I should have called it Lynn Valley Foods,” says Fred Akhzari, the charismatic owner of Lynn Valley Meat Market. After a decade working at a North Shore butcher shop, Fred decided to open his own shop to cater to his community’s growing interest in natural food choices.
“I was the first one who brought grass-fed beef to the North Shore back in 2001, and I can tell you it wasn’t too popular back then; people found it too gamey. But now everyone is after grass-fed beef,” says Fred.
