Kipps Lane Fish & Chips

I highly recommend Kipps Lane Fish n Chips! I was hard pressed to find a classic fish n chip joint such as I had adored as a teen in Toronto in the mid 1970s. A true, halibut fish, hand filleted with the classic, puffed up batter and golden fries is a rare treat to still find these days especially from a family owned and operated restaurant who are so friendly and who take pride in what they serve you. Its very clean and your order is up and ready within 15 mins with a smile. Its just so YUM!

This is one of the best restaurants in London. The fish is always nicely done, and the fries are crisp but not over-cooked. My mother and I go their a lot, usually at least once a week. This is a awesome restaurant, and I love it!!

Conversion of a skeptic.

I want this noted before you read on, I don't like battered fish. Having said that, I LOVE THIS FISH!! THe batter flakes apart when you put your fork in it and the fish comes apart and is like a cloud. The fries were cooked perfectly, just crunchy with a fluffy center. The coleslaw was light and i didn't have that heavy feeling that you would normally get when eating fish and chips. the staff is very friendly and the retaurant itself is very homey. I can't wait until I can try something else!

For the first time in 30 years, only because we moved long ago, a friend and I visited this ol' homestead for lunch yesterday. Wonderful. Though I have made visits to Archie's and others over the years, eating at this establishment slammed home to my taste buds what the REAL DEAL tastes like. I had almost forgotten. The halibut was the whitest, purest you could ever find. Light batter almost "puffed" when you put your fork to it. Not greasy of course. Beautiful. I was a little surprised to discover that the fries were not fresh-cut but they were still good, done in clean oil and again, not greasy. Fresh roll and nice coleslaw that was creamy and not soaked in pure vinegar. What a joy! I must get back there, and soon!!

The best in London! The Halibut meal is always amazing! big portion of fish and fries! Even if I'm not getting fish me and my friends always stop in there for either some fries & gravy or onion rings! Great guy, great prices, and great food! You can't go wrong.

Ive known the owner, John, since birth. Nothing much has changed since i was four years old, and 30 years later. The fish is excellent, the batter light, crisp and tasty, and i love their fries. Not too thin, not too thick and they taste good. If you havent visited here, do so immediately. Hes not getting any younger and you could miss your chance!

THis is the best in London HUH in England maybe but not here. Fish was undercooked and some batter was still runny, chips were good. Makes me wonder if the oil they cooked the fish in was hot enough. Well I won't be risking that again.
