From dusty old magazine covers to Moleskine scribbles, it seems like everything is more beautiful when it's captured in a frame.
When it comes to building space around family heirlooms and preserving other three-dimensional pieces of art, Dimensions Custom Framing and Gallery owners Wendy Palmer and Ellen Davidson are both empathetic and creative. "We're being trusted with something that really has meaning to someone," says Ellen, the mat-maker, who particularly enjoys designing space around unusual pieces.
Ellen has been framing art in Riverside with her business partner Wendy Palmer since April Fool's Day, 2001. They say the opening date was no fluke. After speaking with the building owner in February of that year, Wendy simply marked April 1st in her calendar as the day she would have the keys to her Riverside gallery. Previously, Dimensions had been located on the Danforth.
