In 2012, Fanny Vergnolle de Villers was living in Montreal and noticed that the bike shop on the main floor of her building was closing. She knew right away that she wanted to rent the spot. “The size of the space was just amazing and I wanted to do something amazing with it,” says Fanny, whose mother owns home decor stores and had passed down her creative flair.
Fanny had a gut feeling about the type of store that would flourish. “There was something missing in the home decor market. There’s no one place where you can get furniture and home accessories at all different price points,” she says. So she opened a store filled with home treasures and called it VdeV, a play on her last name.
