beware
We hired Richard Ure in middle of November 2011 and he said he could do my kitchen reno and powder room by Dec.14, 2011. It is now Jan. 30, 2012 and things are a mess. He kept telling us it was his cabinet person who was holding things up and how he paid him to much up front, Before christmas we did get the casing for cabinet work and granite counters. On December 23, he asked for another check so my husband said we will pay the amount of the granite. Early January I start digging and find out that Richard does not live where his gives his address, I located him and my husband went to talk to him. (He had stopped answereing are calls) My husband told him to answer when we call we have paid him alot of money so far. Then I call the Granite place where Richard had ordered it and they tell me that Richard told them in early January that I had not paid him, We then called the cabinet person and he told us he was not getting paid, so his crew quite just before Christmas. I called Richard Ure to get his License number for business, electritian, and plumbers. He tells me he has none of these. I hang up and now my kitchen has been rewired by him, my sink moved by him and he has no permit from the city of ottawa, and no licenses to do the work legally. Now I have to pay triple to get the work done because it was not done right. Fire hazards are scary. My husband called him and said we want money back and all Richard screams at him is he has no money left. He didn't pay his cabinet person,, granite person and has no money when he has alot off my money. Lastly now we just found out his references are family and friends.
