Sneaking around boulders, hiding behind walls, getting off a shot as you’re diving to safety – there are few things that get the blood pumping more than the thrill of a paintball war. Suit up at Vancouver’s best paintball places and make victory yours.
The weather in Vancouver doesn’t always cooperate and it can be hard to concentrate on sighting your enemy when it’s cold and raining. Don’t leave anything in your game to chance and head indoors, especially with this paintball centre offering dozens of different games. You can book every day of the week, celebrate a birthday there and easily access it by SkyTrain or bus. Paintball gear is available to rent, as is some of the best equipment available.
Since 2001, enthusiastic paintballers have made Ambush their second home, and it’s easy to see why. Wage war in one of their three rec fields designed for various different skill and experience levels. Each field features obstacles and challenges: try to conceal yourself in the trenches on Mounds Field, navigate the tree forts and barricades of the five-acre Forest Field, and jump over abandoned cars and piles of tires in Ambush City Field.
Paintball your biggest foe into last year at North Shore Paintball's outdoor fields, open year-round (weather permitting). You can stay as long as you like – or until your paint runs out – if making the perfect shot is more a matter of concentration than speed. Private bookings are available and there are special group rates for larger parties. You also always have the option of choosing to play in one of their many team games.
There are five Call of Paintball locations across B.C. including outposts in Whistler and near the Richmond Olympic Oval. The Vancouver location is indoors and open every day of the week except Tuesday, while Whistler is where you want to go to blow off steam on the weekends. If you want to make a huge event out of it, book a corporate event, stag/doe party or birthday bash.
