The relaxed yet elegant atmosphere of Seasons Restaurant offers a dining experience like no other in downtown Oakville. Since 1998, the restaurant has built a reputation as one of Oakville’s finest dining establishments thanks to its high culinary standards and commitment to crafting dishes with local seasonal ingredients.
The business is equally renowned for the unique history steeped within its walls. The building housed the Anderson Bank in the late 1800s and later became the town clerk's office and police station. In fact, the original prison cells remain intact in the restaurant’s wine cellar which doubles as a private dining room.

We decided to go there for my my mother's 60th birthday. We had 11 people at our table. Our server had no personality whatsoever and spoke at a low volume you could barely hear her. My 4 year old daughter got pizza but the cheese on it was a very strong cheese so she would not eat it. The server could have informed us of this before she brought it out. My son ordered lobster had to send it back it was very under cooked I got the steak that indicated it came with winter greens and vegetables. My steak cut was filled with fat throughout the piece. the winter greens they speak of were a FEW pieces of tiny spinach blended in with the steak and the vegetables were a few mushrooms placed on top. I had been so turned off from my steak cut I sent it back and did not feel like anything else. I did not eat that night nor did my daughter. I did not get any apology from our server nor the owner who was there at the time. He helped clear our table but nothing was said. I then seen our server (female) talking to the kitchen staff bad mouthing me I let her know I could hear her. Again no apologies. I will never return to this restaurant and I do not recommend it at all. If you do go be prepared for no hospitality or great customer service. He also owns maluca and corks in downtown Oakville. I'm sure the service would be the same . I know its no sweat off his back losing 11 people as his customers but his arrogance and pride should have been put asise for a simple apology.
I love the new decor! My husband and I shared the Warm Salad special, which was fantastic. I had the Duo of Duck and my husband tried the special which was Beef Cheek. Both were really, really good. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, which was very reasonably priced. Service was attentive and professional, with just enough friendliness. We will definitely be back. Not sure why the previous poster thinks they use pre-made sauces, because they definitely DO NOT!!
I've eaten at Seasons quite a few times, mainly because my partner likes it. However, I find the food just OK, nothing special. What really bugs me is that they obviously use pre packaged sauces. The prices are ok, but for the same money you can go to other places in Oakville and get much fresher homemade cuisine. Service is good, though.
Seasons has a dated interior with a menu that is rife with dishes combining micro cuisine and approachable ingredients. The above sentence captures how we felt (confused) when we read the menu. The restaurant interior needs to be modernized. While there are bread plates at the table, no bread was offered. Water was also never offered. The menu had lots of references to foam and gel - but no dish was simply that - everything had something substantial on the plate as well. The salmon was a good size and had dabs of gel surrounding it. The shrimp croquette that came with it was out of this world. The lamb was tender and delicious. Desserts were large and very well done. The wine list was interesting - some bottle were marked up three time the lcbo price. Our server was wonderful, the restaurant was packed and we left feeling we had enjoyed ourselves, but it is not a restaurant we would seek out again in the near future. If you want complicated food, this is a well priced place to enjoy it.
My wife and I have visited Season's a few times in the last 6 months, and have had nothing but success. Great, homey atmosphere, and it really feels like the owners are part of the operation. Though Season's is fine dinning the prices are not ridicules like other places dt Oakville and there seem to be no lack of seasonal and weekly specials to keep regulars interested. Their "salmon salad" is delicious and so is their Steak Frites - I believe its less than the Keg. If you're looking for a low key night downtown Oakville you will enjoy yourself here.
Just returned from family dinner at Seasons Oakville (Sunday evening) which was our first time there - and only 2 servers present. Both nice, but our server was totally confused - she told us the wrong specials of the day (the other server had to inform us of this, as she was mixed up - that was the first sign of trouble). Ordered grilled veal ribeye steak medium-well, and got a veal medallion (much smaller than expected) that was well-done - too dry and not tender, totally overdone and burnt. The side accompaniments were also overdone on the grill (blackened baby aspargus and mushrooms ?). My 8-yr old son had a specially made linguine with tomato sauce (something kid-friendly), and even he complained that he couldn't eat it - I tasted it for him, and could barely swallow it myself because it was tremedously salty to nearly cause a gag reflex...totally inedible (and frankly unsafe)!! We waited over 1 hr for this awful food, and so we decided to leave hungry and disappointed! The servers were kind enough to adjust our bill (the least they can do) but honestly, we expected so much more given the other good reviews ( was it just bad staff on a Sunday night?). Unfortunately, it was so awful that we will never go there again, nor could we recommend it - we went straight home to cook a proper dinner for our family.
I had been visiting Oakville , and my friend and I were looking for a restaurant. We saw seasons and it looked busy so we thought it was busy because of the great food. We were right! It was delicious! And the service was excellent. It was quite busy and there was waits here and there, but you could tell the staff was working hard and doing their best to give everyone a good experience! The host and waiter we had we're both very respectful and nice and although it was very busy , they had smiles on the whole time! I will for sure be going there again !
Romantic and elegant dining experience. Server was very accommodating and helpful! Loved the caesar salad and scallops. I have heard some opinions that the restaurant is getting a bit dated, but I had a great experience and would recommend it to others.
very pleasant ... great service had new host/server who made this visit to this establishment a memorable experience My wife and I eat here once a month, The price is always right on. You should give it a chance.
Recently had lunch at Seasons after reading about it here, but must say had a very different experience than the last few reviews. Arrived at 12:45 for lunch without a resvn, and although the restaurant wasn't full and never did fill up while we were there, we were seated in the far back corner. After placing our orders, we noticed the server go by with a particularly delicious looking entree. When we enquired as to what it was, since it didn't seem to resemble anything on the menu, we were told it was the daily special which shocked us as we had not been offered any specials and were then told it was too late to change our order. Caesar salad with warm double smoked bacon was quite good, but quiche and pasta, just so-so. Creme brule was o.k.
Saturday night dinner with the wife here. Staff were very nice and accomodating. Server recommended a wine that went perfectly with the meal. Busy place but staff looked no worse for wear.
A really good experience that comes close to the best fine dining in Oakville at a slightly lower price point. Try going late, you will often get the manager bringing some little treats out to you.
We decided to try Seasons for lunch on a cold weekday afternoon. The restaurant has a warm and cosy feeling but the art work could use some updating. The meal was served in a timely fashion and the high quality of ingredients were evident in every dish. The Organic Greens were light and fresh as expected. The appetizer Tart was unique and had wonderful flavor. The lunch entrees were exceptional. The feature pasta was a veal stuffed ravioli w/sauteed mushrooms in a richly flavored sauce. The seafood pasta had shrimp and mussels in a very light cream sauce. Both came piping hot and were thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back again soon.
Such a warm, inviting atmosphere on a very cold night! We had great food and service and the owner came by to inquire about our food and was very friendly. Wait staff was also very friendly. We love this place!
George & Tammy have the right formula...great food at very reasonable prices, the wine list is extensive and a fraction of the price of the same labels at some Toronto restaurants. Even if we decide to splurge and order a more lavish meal, we never have felt like we were "hosed".
I think Seasons Restaurant is the best restaurant in Oakville. The food is amazing and the staff that works there are great with service. When you first walk in you get this nice comfort feeling.. I read some of the other bad reviews and was very disappointed to see what some people had to say. I think they should give the restaurant a second chance. The staff at Seasons works really hard to make sure everyone enjoys there time spent there.....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
My wife and I looked at a few restaurants on Lakeshore this evening and Seasons appeared to be the busiest. We hoped that was an indication that it was a good restaurant. Walking in it had a very nice modern and relaxing look. the sign outside was the fanciest on the block. By the time we left we felt it was more glitz than substance. My Caesar salad was presented beautifully. Problem was I spent half my time cutting full uncut leaves of romaine. The dressing was bland. The stuffed capon was bland, though the asparagus and veggies that came with it had some flavour. My wife's seafood pasta was also tasteless (the waiter described it as being lightly spiced). The sauce was very watery and all ended up at the bottom. My wife returned her meal and the restaurant staff were very apologetic. She was offered to order something else if she wished and she ordered a veal chop. Unfortunately very fatty, it too was bland and tasteless. Even though it was grilled it tasted like it had been boiled. Our waitress was very nice, though getting our food was very slow. We didn't blame the waitreess. The restaurant was very busy, and maybe the kitchen was just not prepared to handle that. Total bill for the night was just under $90 and that did not include any drinks. All in all extremely disappointing.
we were reserved for dinne on a saturday night. table was not ready because clearly they had overbooked. this is not the first time that it has happened at this restauraunt. we were greeted by a young beautifull and pleasent host which was nice. were were seated in a section. i felt as if the waitress has had no training at all. she is terrible, very un-plesant and makes you feel rushed. she needs to retire ! the food was ok a decently priced but the service had ruined it all for me. this has happened here before and i will not be going back.
A Saturday night, 7pm reservation, and the restaurant was completely full - a good sign. Atmosphere is good, service was very professional and everyone enjoyed their food. I (a male) thought the food portions were a little small but the ladies thought they were fine. Food was hot & prompt, wall art good, a little on the noisy side.
Fantastic ambiance and wonderful service. A beautiful wedding dinner to remember. Thank you, Tammy and George.
